Peter Cincotti, 24 anni newyorchese con evidenti radici italiane è uno dei più importanti cantautori Jazz e un talentuoso pianista che ha frequentato il prestigioso Columbia College tanto da essere paragonato a Billy Joel.E’ uscito già da mesi in Europa il nuovo lavoro East of Angel Town, dedicato a Los Angeles, un cd che ha visto la luce da noi con qualche mese di anticipo rispetto all’America dove le sonorità di Peter, pianista estremamente vitale, raccontano un mondo dove le melodie si intrecciano alle storie personali.

Fra i pezzi più belli del cd, oltre allo stupendo singolo apripista già adottato dalle radio Goodbye Philadelphia, ci sono Be Careful, U B U e la dolce Cinderella Beautiful. Il brano December Boys è anche colonna sonora del film omonimo del quale l’artista è molto orgoglioso.

Dopo il grandissimo successo di Bleending Love, che ha permesso a Leona Lewis con il suo album di debutto “Spirit” di vendere oltre un milione e mezzo di copie soltanto in Gran Bretagna, arriva il nuovo pezzo e si tratta per essere più specifici di un doppio singolo. Infatti oltre alla morbida “Footprints in The Sand” uscirà anche la up-tempo “Better in Time”,ma in questo post tratteremo del primo brano citato.

Entrambe le canzoni uscirano a scopo benefico infatti i ricavati delle vendite andranno in beneficenza o meglio all’associazione “Sport Relief”. Passiamo a parlare della canzone!! E’ sicuramente un ottima mossa far uscire come singolo una gran ballatona come “Footprints…”,bella,intensa e toccante e tutto naturlmente accompagnato dalla bellissima voce della cantante. Il video fa da colonna sonora all’associazione di cui vi ho parlato prima e tratta il tema della poverta e della sofferenza in particolar modo quella dei bambini. Molto bello e toccante… vi lascio alla visione…

Mi aspettavo molto di più da L’Aura,visto il suo precedente Sanremo, dove aveva presentato Irraggiungibile contenuto nel suo magnifico suo album Okumuki. Ma questo pezzo mica scherza ha un bellissimo testo che parla della violenza e anche una dolce melodia,è un vero peccato che questa artista sia molto snobbata dal pubblico italiano merita molto di più scrive canzoni molto belle e impegnate suona e canta benissimo!La sua è stata una delle migliori esibizioni live della serata….certo che pensando a L’aura viene quasi naturale fare il paragone con Elisa,anche perchè dal viso e un pò dalla voce ricorda molto la Toffoli…

Hands on Me è il secondo singolo della cantante NewYorkese “Vanessa Carlton”,lei è stata all’apice del successo un paio ‘danni fa con la sua smash hits A Thousand Miles. Il nuovo album ” Heroes & Thieves” è uscito  nell ottobre del 2007 traianto dal primo singolo Nolita FairyTale. Il nuovo pezzo “hands on me” è nel classico stile della cantante, una up tempo suonata completamente al pianoforte, che riesce a prenderti fin dai primi ascolti in particolar modo grazie a un ritornello molto marcato.

Arriva dalla California ” Sara Bareilles” nuova promessa della pop/piano e soul music, già paragonata a miti come Norah jones e Fiona Apple. La sua musica è una ventata di freschezza e in particolar modo lo è il suo primo singolo “Love Song” che è riuscita a raggiungere la cima della billboard hot 100 piazzandosi alla numero 9.

La canzone fa parte dell’album “Little Voice” il primo album sotto contratto con una casa discografica importante ma il quarto per l’intera carriera della cantautrice.
