Him – Bleed Well (video + testo/lyrics)

Da pochi mesi è stato pubblicato il nuovo album della band Filandese gli “Him” si tratta di “Venus Doom” il sesto della loro carriera. Di questo album sono stati estratti già “The Kiss of Dawn” e “Passion’s Killing Floor” che avete potuto ascoltare nel film Trasformer in quanto inclusa nella colonna sonora. Adesso arriva “Bleed Well” brano dalla sfumature di puro dark-gothic che ricorda molto i primi pezzi all’esordio della band, infatti lo stesso cantante “Ville Valo” ha voluto sottolineare il fatto che il sound di questo nuovo lavoro è più vicino a quello di band come i metallica e My bloody Valentine.

Da citare anche il bellissimo testo di questa canzone che sembra una poesia be secondo me con questo album gli Him hanno fatto un passo in più verso la musica alternativa e si sono distaccati un pò dal rock commerciale di cui vi era una grossa impronta nel precedente disco,anche se allo stesso tempo lo trovo inferiore ai loro lavori precedenti come “Greatest lovesongs vol666” e “Razorblade Romance“.

Him – The Kiss Of Dawn (video + testo)

A distanza di due anni dalla pubblicazione di “Dark Light”,tornano gli Him con un nuovo lavoro intitolato “Venus Doom” e si tratta del sesto studio album per la band filandese.

Il primo estratto è “The kiss down” un pezzo che parte con una buona dose di rock ma che dopo un pò spazia nel pop-rock un pezzo che ha bisogno di essere ascoltato più volte per essere apprezzato secondo me.La canzone è stata dedicata a uno dei migliori amici del cantante degli Him che è morto suicidia durante la pr0mozione del precedente album.Invece il video è stato girato a Los Angeles ed stato diretto da Meiert Avis,lo stesso che aveva già diretto “wings of a Butterfly”,un video come atmosfere tipiche gotiche!!!!Non so perchè ma il cantate mi ha sempre ricordato vagamente il protagonista del film “il corvo”…vi lascio la video

Evanescence – Good Enough (video + testo)

Nonostante sia passato più di un anno dalla pubblicazione di The Open Door,gli Evanescence tornano con un 4° singolo che si tratta di Good Enough.

La cantate ha specificato che l’intro di “Good Enough” deriva da un pezzo che fu scritto per il film Le Cronache di Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, che fu tagliato dall colonna sonora perchè considerato troppo dark.La Lee inoltre ha voluto puntualizzare che è stato il marito, Josh Hartzler, la sua fonte d’ispirazione per questa canzone, come lei stessa ha scritto nel booklet di The Open Door:

” Josh, tu sei la mia musa. Nessuno m’ispira nel modo che fai tu . Ti ringrazio perchè tu completi i pezzi mancanti. Ti ringrazio per la tua forza e il tuo amore. Ti ringrazio per lasciarmi vedere attraverso i tuoi occhi,perchè solo allora io so che vado abbastanza bene per te .”
Il video di”Good Enough” è stato girato tra 11 Giugno e 14 Giugno, 2007 a Váci utca (Váci street) in Budapest, Ungheria.
